Golden Penda

Location in MGP:

Common Name: Golden Penda

Scientific Name: Xanthostemon chrysanthus

Points of Interest:
The attractive bright yellow flowers of the Golden Penda makes it a fine ornamental and garden tree.
Its compact form also allows it to be planted along roadsides where space may be limited, and it is increasingly being added to housing estates to add some color to the greenery.
The beautiful flowers place an irresistible invitation to butterflies, bees and nectar-feeding birds.
The tree yields a strong hardwood timber that can be utilized in making furniture.
